Description
Fall in the national forests of Colorado is my absolute favorite. The cool crisp air, the golden hues, hiking and camping in beautiful locations... it just doesn't get any better for me and my family. Last Fall, we enjoyed an early morning hike along the Beaver Ponds Trailhead and were treated to serene conditions. As I watched my young son walk ahead of me on the trail, I was so struck by this view. I quickly snapped this photo, which I'm so grateful for, as I feel like it truly captures his essence. He is autistic and has the most incredible mind: the way he sees and interacts with the world truly takes my breath away. Watching him charge ahead into this complex world, completely awestruck and filled with wonder, is so perfectly reflected in this happenstance image.
